How many entries allowed per person?
There are several of us with more than one as well.

Are these being judged in categories like in tat shows?
Tribal- b/w- color- fan favorite- spinning inspired ?

This makes for a more even voting process because some people hate tribals or colors etc. The categories are fairly easy, not like styles of spinning
Or would it depend on number of entries?

I won't be able to enter until my last appt on my back is done on the 12th. Only 4 more hours to go (out of 12)!!!! I'll have to send myself a reminder to enter.

Well that and find a new camera (my less than a year old one was stolen )

Hmmm...sorry, you def hit on a passion of mine with this one! lol

It does say on the conditions of entry only one per person, I had thought of that also. The only picture I had incorporated two of my tattoos.

I'd say the rule would be one picture only. Could a single entry be edited to collage the tattoos?

I do like the idea of categories because mine would get overshadowed by a big portrait, but I don't really like colour in mine, I like nice simple designs that're thoroughly meaningful to me, especially my newest inspired by a peace advocate taken before his time.

M_N_S...that's what I meant by entries, thank you for helping clarify. Not necessarily how many photos (some of us would take alot of space ) but how many tats in that one photo.

Would we have to specify which tat in the photo to be judged or would it be taken as a body of art?

I'm going to guess no collage though.

fire.chef, that is entirely too funny. The tat parlor I work in has people come in with homemade tats and it always gets a good laugh.
At least you used equipment, not, ya know, piano wire and ball point pen ink

what about body suits ? you can't get them in one photo as not much detail will show up, and you can't get all sides from one photo

collage photo's are allowed - see the jump move competition with the roller skate and horse jumping entries.

I hear what you're all saying about the categories - for now at least we'd like to keep it simple and just have one best overall category.

Is there a way to withdraw my old entry and throw up a new one so I can put up a collage one or is that it? Doesnt fuss me too much if its not possible since that one encapsulates the main one (The new one) and my other one... i only have one other that says "The Beatles" on my chest.

Too bad I haven't got my next tattoo yet... It'd win for SURE! Its going to be this... http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l359/mother_Natures_Son/flower1.jpg

I'd vote for Simta's antispin staff tats if they were actually up...

there's a tiny bit of finishing off needed on them.

@george - would it be possible to enter pic of how they are now, then if i did have the finishin off done in time to update the pic?

its the same tat, there is just a tiny bit of shading to be done, which wont make much difference.

dont worry guy, ill get a pic up soon, then you can vote for me and tell everyone else to

LazyAngel, isn't the point to look at all of the entries once they're up and *then* decide?

To me it doesn't seem quite fair to the other submitters to prejudge and announce that you are doing so publically.

Now to publically "recommend" someone enter, that's different

simta, you can enter a picture and if you want to change it later then let me know and I can delete it. The only problem is that without 'special intervention' when I delete an entry, any votes with that entry get lost. In your example we may be able to make an exception but it woul dmean Malcolm tinkering in the database which we don't like to do if we can possibly avoid it!

I got no 7! Does anyone find it fishy that number 2 went up 6 days before the competition finished as well as being long before the tattoo itself was even finished?

I personally love how well number 10 did.

how DID number 10 do so well?

Personally I think 17 or 4 were the best...

I love big colorful things.

I do think you're right though, as an avid Beatles fan since I was born, he was taken too soon.
...And Ringo wasn't taken soon enough.... No, I'm sorry, that was messed up and I'm not that mean, but seriously, he needs to stop doing cover albums.

When you say number 10, you mean the person who finished 10th? If so, that would be me......and I didn't really do very well if I finished 10th did I? !!! Ah well, thanks to all the guys who voted for me anyway.... I'm just gutted I couldn't find any pictures of my better hairstyles, I'd have done better for sure.

Thank you.
Mine's number 17

Designed and drawn (but not tattooed, obviously) completely by me smile
Though there is still about 8 hours worth of work to go.
I was scheduled to get it finished when my tat artist had his arm broken by a bouncer at a club, so it didn't get done. frown Because of that I actually entered *really- REALLY* late, as in, after the original deadline passed. Looking at how many views I got, I had literally half the views of every one else, or alot less than that in some cases, I couldn't be more pleased placing where I did.

Oh well.
Thanks to all who voted for me. I really appreciate it greatly! cheers

Awesome.

At the moment I'm still in the design (read: I'm trying to make sure my idea is 100% right before I give it a go-ahead) phase, and even though I don't have 1 tattoo yet, I'm trying to figure out how my other ideas will fit in (read: I'm being picky and silly) with my main ideas.... *shrug* I wish I COULD draw... well.

Ah well, maybe it's just me, but I'm atwitter with anticipation, and have so far not had both the idea/drawing and money together at the same time.

Soon though....!

My tattoo was done for one of those "Inked" tv shows in a parlour I worked part time in for awhile.

Believe it or not, it was done for free. I got lucky.

However, the remainder of the work needed on it, I am not sure how that will pan out. We shall see.
By the time it's done it will be full 3/4 of my back and circling around both my hips to meet the ones I have on the tip of my hip bones. Even the idea makes me happy wink
I love the anticipation and the getting it done and the after effect...I hate the healing. Too itchy! lol

Yea, I've heard alot about the healing, only thing I wouldn't look forward to is heading to my martial arts classes with a fresh tattoo. I would imagine that may get.... irritating at least, if not more.

being honest, i'd give the martial arts classes a miss while you heal! the more time and care given to a fresh tattoo, the better the final result will be when it is healed........damn....now i want some new ink........*runs off in search of inspiration for a new tattoo.

Best way is to ask people that you know that've got tattoos. They'll at least know what the places they went to was like.

I've had one done by a less than great tattooist and it took longer to heal than the others as well as needing more touchups.

There was a slight difference between the other two, also, done by different tattooists in a decent parlour.
